Florence Jones

I became involved at Shoalhaven FM with two already existing co-presenters of Sunday Concert and Room to Move. More recently (August 2005) I commenced presenting a diverse range of music on my own program “Anything Goes”.

I am now having the best time, after my initial terror when confronted by the technology of a radio studio: we’re talking here about someone who was born well before the world of I.T. took over. What’s worse, I am an erstwhile English Teacher, who still reads books, where all you need to know is how to turn over a page. (Well, OK, I can press buttons on my washing machine). Furthermore, I haven’t had a musical education but, with the cunning of the deprived, I have managed to have friends who are musicians and composers who are busy putting me right about the difference between a clef and a clarinet.

Anyway, it’s not just ignorance that is bliss. It’s also bliss surrounding your days with music. How’s that for a double whammy !

Florence produces & records a portion of her programs on a Laptop PC from her home in North Nowra" but also presents live from the Arts Centre studios. Florence is a past management committee member of Shoalhaven FM
